First, the fitness:
I've been keeping up with my workouts, which is huge. Usually I get discouraged about two weeks in to whatever new thing I'm trying out and just.. stop. Not this time, baby! (I owe it to all your encouragement.. really!) I ran and lifted weights on Saturday, did a (really bad but still worth it) cardio/pilates tape and ran and lifted weights on Monday, and I ran and lifted more weights on Wednesday. Plus all my morning yoga/stretching stuff.
Booya.
Note: when I say lifted weights, I refer to my arms. I loathe my arms. I really, really want Michelle Obama arms.
And.. wait for it.. it's totally working! I don't know WHAT I'm doing differently this time, but I'm getting some (little, baby) guns.. especially in my biceps. There is an ever-so-slight muscle there, where there used to be mush.
I don't do leg related weight things because my legs are naturally muscular.. I owe it to all the dancing, I think. Just doing more regular exercise has firmed them up significantly in the past two weeks. I still have a long way to go, but I think it's working so far.
I can't tell you if I lost any weight, because I don't weight myself, but I certainly feel better. And I'll count that as a win for this week!

On to vlog Friday!! This week's question was: What were you like in 8th grade?
I'm not sure I actually answered the question, but I recalled as much information for you as I possibly could. Watch it. There are pictures.
And.. queue dumb face:
So.. what were YOU guys like in 8th grade, aka around the age of 13??
PS. Don't forget to check out other vlog Friday participants, like Marsh Mellow Goodness, Adventures in Love and Happiness, Heart on Homestead, Minted Life and Folly Life!

That's awesome in the exercise department! My motivation at the gym hasn't really gone anywhere since November - so I hope you're able to keep it going!!
I am super glad I don't do this vlog because let's just say 8th grade was super awkward...more like a few horrible defining moments. Makes me cringe.
Simba looks like he was such a cute cat!! I'm so sorry to hear about losing him, that must have been really hard. My childhood cat got put down last year :( Growing up sucks. Our family dog is getting quite old and I don't even like thinking about it.
I love the Leo wall... I definitely had one of those. Around that time I was obsessed with Leo and JTT. In about the 8th grade (which was 2001) I became obsessed with Josh Harnett and that stayed that way until late high school. I still think he's hot, but I'm not obsessed haha.
CONGRATS for staying motivated in your fitness goals!!!! Aren't Michelle's arms to die for?! I have some serious arm envy. I'm hoping I can start staying consistent with yoga/stretches every morning in addition to working out more.
KEEP IT UP!!!! The changes will only continue to make you feel better from here!!!!!
awesome on the workouts situation!! love the vlog :)
OMG, blow up chairs were huge when I was in middle school! I had a clear one in my room.
Leo, Devon Sawa, JTT and the boy bands were all heart throbs for me. Sigh, I really thought I would end up with JTT, not sure why I didn't...
Oh man, what a crazy thyroid thing in 8th grade! You totally should have mentioned 9th grade- whatever makes you happy :)
Plus, WOO HOO DANCE TEAM! haha
The summer after 8th grade I had a 3 month period too! But we just figured it was because I"m messed the f up but the year after that they put me on BC to control it.
Sorry for the TMI, just thought it was crazy we both dealt with that.
Way to GO! and dang, Michelle has ca-ray-zay awesome arms!
Good for you! I'm totally struggling on the weekends. Like, after a week of workouts it's totally appropriate to refuse to be physical at all and mainline burgers and wings and pizza. Hopefully you can be my motivation to keep the healthy rolling.
ahh telling me about the normalness of kitty utis makes me feel SO much better... she hasn't done it again, so hopefully we're catching it early... I dont want to think of her being in pain!
Way to go! So impressed that you're sticking with it. That takes serious willpower, which I apparently lack. Keep up the good work!
YOU GO, GIRL!!! Work it!! I would kill to have Michelle Obama's arms.
