Something I learned: if you use a flash, the snow flakes pop out.
We cooked dinner together (sort of) and then played Scrabble. And took pictures of my dumb cat.
Bahahahahaha. Told you he was dumb ;) Still love him.
And.. you may not believe me, but there was turquoise lightning. Multiple times. Huge flashes of turquoise, to which I squeeled "Ohhh it's like the shade of our main wedding color!"
Ok, I made this photo look turquoise. But I swear there was turquoise lightning.
All in all, a nice laid back night. I know the snow can be a pain, but it can also be beautiful.
Something else I learned: No flash + a slow shutter speed = awesome snow pics!
FYI: While I'm currently at work, no one else really is.. bummer! I also seriously hope that any of you around the DC area (and the rest of the east coast) made it home ok yesterday; it took several people at my job over 7 hours to drive home. I seriously can't even imagine.

I wish I had known how to take awesome snow pics when it snowed here! Your cat is adorable.
aw i love this!
I'll confess, I googled how to take snow pics today. Taking the pictures with the flash on makes the flakes pop and I learned if you use a slow shutter speed and a tripod, they'll look like streaks! (I'm trying that next time)
Also, today the sun was so bright, I had to adjust the exposure up a bit so the picture wasn't dull. :)
The snow was so beautiful! Even if it makes driving a pain in the rear.
7 HOURS TO GET HOME?!?!?!?!?!? I am so not jealous of you, not gonna lie. And I thought 40 degrees was cold this morning (it's 63 now, btw... lol). But those pictures are amazing! It would be cool to have some snow like that for a day and then it go away and be 70 degrees the next day. (Can you tell I'm a Texan?)
Beautiful photos. We got hit with about a foot yesterday. Driving home was so scary.
That last shot is beautiful!
Also, jealous you Scot to play scrabble, Jus refuses to!
Your cat is totally a pirate. Aaaaargh!
Your cat makes me giggle. (And just something I learned and would like to pass along...they don't like snow.)
