Waste of money

Anyone else end up buying themselves things when you go out shopping for other people? I know you do, don't hide it.

I went to Macy's the other day for two reasons: the first was to find myself a pair of mitten gloves with the removable mitten part so your fingers can stick out, and the second was to browse and see if they had any good little stocking stuffer type things. I ended up buying really fuzzy earmuffs. For me.

I had no idea how much I needed them until I saw them.

I personally think we all need to start wearing earmuffs again, even though I kind of look like a dork. People in NYC know what I'm talking about. Earmuffs are the cool thing there, but no where else. Another reason New York (still) rocks.

So. Since I didn't see any of gloves I wanted in Macy's, I went to American Apparel. There, I bought thigh high socks, just because they looked really warm.

Well, not so much when you wear them with nothing but a leotard. But still. I can prance around the house in them. I'm so hipster. Anyway.

The intent of this little (selfish) shopping excursion was really to see if I got inspired to buy friends and family some small random gifts (honestly!) and instead I ended up gifting myself. Merry Christmakwanzikuh!

However. I am very proud of myself for this one:

I headed over to Bed Bath & Beyond after work last night to buy a cheese grater for Scot for Christmas (don't ask). I ended up buying a few more things, but guess what? NONE of it was for me. And that's saying something, because I kind of really want everything they sell at that store.

What have you guys unintentionally bought for yourselves lately?

I didn't have to buy so many presents so was good in not buying things for me... the only problem was that when I bought my friends presents I wanted to keep them as I liked them so much.

Oh I need all of those things you bought as its so cold here.

haha. this is so me. I had to put an online order to Target for a few of my sisters' gifts--but they were only $25 and I need to spend $50 for free shipping, so I bought myself a bunch of stuff to make up the difference.

hahah, when I bought my friends Whoopie Pie book, I totally bought myself a Macaron book. I've been doing a lot of this too lately ;p
Oh well! Tis the season :) The earmuffs look totally cute!

I keep buying entire seasons of Gossip Girl for fifty dollars a pop and then I have to explain to my husband why a.) I've spent $50 for absolutely no reason and b.) why I, as a 32 year old adult, feel compelled to saturate my brain with crap-t.v. for teenagers.

(In my defense, though. Teenagers or not, those girls on the show are wayyyy older than me. And Chuck is going to be my next husband if this marriage doesn't work out, so it's kind of like pre-marital homework. I'm studious!)

Merry Christmas!

i lovvvvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeee american apparel. TOP 4 stores definitely, and I recently spent $100 there, so don't feel guilty. It's Groupon's fault.

I am so guilty of this. I went crazy buying things for people at Lush the other day, and just had to buy myself a bath bomb too.

Also, I would wear earmuffs. Walking around Chicago is just too damn cold with nothing covering your ears!

Bed Bath and Beyond is the devil. I want to live in that store. I adore those earmuffs!

I swear to you, I was JUST saying to Josh a few days ago that I want/need earmuffs. Must have them. MUST.

And yeah, I buy for myself just as much as I buy for others. For shame, I know :(
