Not a favorite.

Back in high school, my bff J-picc and I had lots and lots of movie nights.

Us circa age 15.

We kept track one summer, and it definitely got up to near 100. Just for the summer.

Anyway. We went through a scary movie kick, where we'd just rent whatever we could find at Blockbuster or Hollywood Video (when they still existed) under the horror/scary section. While I am most definitely NOT a scary movie person (and still have nightmares from them), there was still something fun about watching them in her basement or my bedroom and freaking out together. Selections included Jeepers Creepers 1 & 2, Wrong Turn, The Ring, It (which I still haven't seen the end of.. different story), and Children of the Corn.

Have any of you seen that movie? Or I should say.. movies. There are 7 of them. We watched ALL OF THEM.

The first one still freaks me out the most. I mean.. little children killing adults in fields of corn. Every time I drive past corn fields or wheat fields (or any kind of fields, really), I seriously freak. Especially at night.

I shared this little gem of a fact with Scot and where the irrational fear came from, and he of course thought it was hysterical. Especially since his parents live in upstate New York, where there is a never ending supply of corn fields. (Also.. where I am right now.)

So I'm opening a gift that is labeled from Ty, my soon to be nephew, on Christmas morning. This is what it was:

The devil movie. IN BLU-RAY. Seriously?!

Scot bribed Ty to let me think it was from him so I wouldn't be suspicious. Because, really, I should have seen this coming.

Now I have to watch children killing adults in corn fields in HD. Kill me now (preferably not by said children in corn fields).

Gah.

I freaking LOVED that movie when I was a kid. But I watched it as an adult and I was like, ok. That's creepy. The name Malachi freaks me out now. Did you know that the kid that played Isaac wasn't a kid?? He has a growth hormone issue, he was an adult. That's why he was able to play such a creeeeeeeepy little kid.

I am 30 years old and STILL get nightmares from stuff like this. I got a nightmare from a Law & Order episode. Sheesh!

Layla.. YES because it is SO apparent in the 6th (I think) movie!! We had this whole debate over if it was really the same person or not because he was still child-like! I wonder if they knew that when they originally casted him?? Gah so weird.

I have some scary movies that have scarred my for life. Mostly The Hitcher (or Hitch hiker - can't remember)...Wrong Turn definitely and probably Chucky. I haven't seen Children of the Corn, and definitely won't ever - thanks for the warning. I hate scary movies, especially ghost movies... I will never ever ever ever watch Paranormal Activity. ever.

Okay, I'm sorry but HELL NAW. Nope. Not gonna happen. No way. Nuh-uh.

Haha, I hate scary movies. The movie IT was horrible for me and Chucky - don't even get me started!!! Some friends made me watch Child's Play at a sleepover in fifth grade, and now I'm scarred for life. That little bastard NEVER DIES. WTF.
