As the author, Dan Abramson, wrote: "New Yorkers have no sense of geography, which is fair, considering the world revolves around their city. As a New Yorker myself, I attempted to draw the map of the United States. As far as I know, it's 100% accurate."
Bahahahahaha. Truth. I'd throw Maryland in there since I live there and know where it is now, but the rest can stay the same ;)
(Also? Anything outside of NYC and Long Island is upstate New York. Don't fight me. It is.)

Empty Space before getting to the Real South
My map would look like a big blob and then I would write stuff like
True Blood peeps
Dexter lives here
Mountains
Cali
People have accents
Ski country
Close to Canada
but yes I know where NYC is :)
Ah, Utah. That's where Jen and I are living. :P I wish we were known for our gorgeous national parks or our beautiful western skies. But nope. Mormons. :P
I kinda like Amy's map too "true blood peeps, Dexter lives here" -- hahaha.
I read the map out loud to Kevin and he had to get up and look. Now we're both busting up laughing.
So funny.
And yet, scarily true about what our kids really learn. (Like, we can make fun of it because deep down, we know it. But there are so many people that really have NO freakin' clue. Scary!)
haha that's funny
As a girl from Georgia, I have to say . . . this is exactly how I see the US. :0] Brilliant.
Hilarious!!! I love how big Atlanta is, and I totally WISH it were closer to Florida. Or, 'scuse me, where they film cops. ;)
I love that Wisconsin is designated as "Fatties/Packers fans." Yes to the Packers fans part, but gee, uh, thanks? for the Fatties designation! Haha! :)
LOL, okay this is the best "drawings" I've seen so far. My state is "One of the States that has Kansas City". LOL, so true!
