I can't think of a good title, so this is it.

Yep.

I find myself very blog-absent on the weekends; I would blame it on my super jam-packed weekends o' fun, but that's usually not the case. However, this weekend it was, so I had lots of blog reading and catching up to do this morning and now have lots to share!

Saturday mornings for me generally equal a massage clinic shift, followed by whatever Scot and I feel like doing with ourselves for the rest of the day (lately, not much). This Saturday, however, had us up and out of bed at 7:30am (that's crazy-talk) to prep for the Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear in DC! We had been looking forward to this for weeks, since John Stewart and Stephen Colbert announced it on their respective shows.

We headed over to Emily's (you may know her from A Leap Begins/Burning River Bride, and as Em219 on Twitter) and metro'd into DC together to meet up with Christiana (aka msdorsay of Weddingbee and US meets UK fame) for some pre-rally mimosas (sans OJ.. so.. really just sparkling wine), donuts, and sign making. Oh, and there was bacon.

Lots of bacon. That Scot ate with strange enthusiasm. What a creeper.

After we were all filled up from tasty goodness, we headed over to the Mall to get this party started. It was packed with enthusiastic, sane people with some fantastic signs, all the way from the Capitol back to at least the War Memorial. I'll let some pictures do the talking.

Sooo many peopleeee.

It's a sea of sanity!

This was (unfortunately) the best view I had.. of the jumbotron.
Featuring the lovely Stephen Colbert, with USA super suit.

Christiana's sign!

If you are intrigued by this adventure of a rally, just type it into Google and you will find a plethora of descriptions, pictures, information, clips, etcetcetc about it. Estimates put the total count at somewhere between 200k - 250k.

Suck it and your 78k, Glenn Beck.

After the rally, we had a helluva time trying to find a place to eat due the massive amounts of people, and I'll just say that Steph + only a donut over 7 hours + lots of standing and walking = general moodiness and crankiness. Long story short, the crab cake sandwich and fries I eventually had tasted like the best thing I've ever eaten in my life. And gave me a food baby.

So then we all went our separate (why do I always spell that wrong?!) ways around 6pm, and Scot and I decided to stop by T's apartment on the way home to meet the newest addition to her and K's family:

Bartholomew!

Apparently he's a Chihuahua Terrier, but I just think he's plain old cute. I want to go back and play with him now.

So that was Saturday. And to make this the longest post ever, I will continue with Sunday.

My Sunday's of late have equaled dance class in the morning, followed by some time at the shooting range with Scot and/or cleaning the apartment in the afternoon. Obviously it was Halloween this past weekend, but it was also something much more important (in my opinion): the Marine Corps Marathon. This year boasted over 30,000 participants running either the 10k or full 26.2k. These people are amazing (just the thought of running makes me pant), and I jumped at the chance to help massage the runners at Team Fisher House. A few pics from the afternoon:

Great times with great people - I wish I could do stuff like this all the time, but volunteering = no money and no money = no home. So yea. It at least cements the idea that I would definitely love to work with athletes and dancers in future.

To finish the day off, I made Scot take a picture of me in my last resort costume that I meant to wear at the race but completely forgot to. Never ended up wearing the Pebbles costume, so I guess I lost my hairs for nothing :( Oh well, there's always next year!

Bumblebee-angel-massage therapist mash up. What a fail.

And there you have it, Halloween weekend 2010! I hope you guys had just as much fun!!
