If I were to do a quick recap of the past weekend, I'd have to say that I was happy to see family, glad to go up to NY for a few days, annoyed with the drama that always seems to crop up one way or another, giddy that Scot and I had a real date night (the first in a while!), and freaking beyond excited about a certain Black Friday purchase (that had nothing to do with Black Friday.. except that I bought it on Friday, so it counts).
Want more details? Ok!
> First and foremost, it only took us 4 hours to go from DC to NY. That's ridiculous. It's taken almost 9 hours before. We made our best time ever on Thanksgiving eve, with leaving at 6:30pm. I didn't ask questions, just celebrated with a couple glasses of wine once we got to my mom's =D

> We had deeee-licious turkey with all the fixins for Thanksgiving dinner. My mom made roast turkey with her signature family recipe stuffing (seriously, so freaking good) and green beans seasoned with dill. J (her hubby) made garlic mashed potatoes so thick you could stand on them (well, not really, but they were damn tasty). I made cranberries seasoned with cinnamon, port wine and orange zest, as well as butternut squash soup. Dessert consisted of homemade apple pie and some vanilla ice cream.
It was a typical Thanksgiving dinner, but I am a-ok with that. Leftovers are what it's all about!
> Scot and I had a sushi date Friday night, which is impressive because he rarely eats sushi. The last time I convinced him to have some on a fancy date, we both ended up with food poisoning. Not really the impression I was going for. We split three rolls and some tempura green tea ice cream.
By the time I realized I should take a picture of the tasty sushi, it was gone.
Also, why the glare? Because Scot kept stealing my ice cream, forcing me to eat with two spoons. Yea, I did that.
> Saturday brought Scot and I into the heart of NYC to scope out Bryant Park, per usual, and then to the Museum of Sex. We went to the museum last year as well, not because we're nymphomaniacs, but because it was under construction and kind of wimpy, so we wanted to give it another chance. That's what she said.

Bryant Park purchases
Teal knit hat and gray cat hoodie, complete with ears. Be jealous.
> Saturday night brought us out to Jersey to go to dinner with my mom, J, and his two kids. We ended up spending the night there so we could just get up and be on the road by 7am for our return car trip to DC.. which we also made in 4 hours! I don't know what was going on, but the traffic gods were surely looking over us this year. Personally, I give full credit to the heads-up penny I found in front of the elevators right before we left to go to NY on Wednesday.
> Since we made such fantabulous time on the way back, Scot and I decided to get our Christmas tree! We even had time to decorate the whole thing, as well as the whole apartment. Which I must say, looks so incredibly cozy with the new furniture layout and big ol' tree in the middle of the living room!
> And! Last but most definitely not least... I FOUND AND BOUGHT MY WEDDING DRESS!!! Who saw that one coming?! My mom and I went out on Friday to look around a bit... and there it was. Intrigued? Go visit my new wedding blog here to read all about it!!!

Wow! I can't believe it only took you 4 hours! That's awesome. The tree is amazing. The Thanksgiving dinner looked so yummy. The deer orgy is disturbing, and oh yeah CONGRATS ON THE DRESS!!!
I love your tree! It's so round and plentiful! LOVE IT!
Mine is a little baby faker.
Well, we all know how the tree situation ended up, don't we?
Sounds like you had a fabulous weekend! It took us so damn long to get back to Ohio and back to DC. I envy your easy-peasy 4 hr trip!
You are ADORABLENESS!
And that tree is huuuuge (that's what she said).
(haha, deer orgy)
I love your tree, it's so big! My fave kind. :)
I'm still not over your dress, I read that post first. Haha
I have five ornaments and Chad wants a giant tree. I may need your decorating expertise!
