Mean Stinks

I had a terrible night's sleep Monday night.. you know what part of the reason was? I was concerned about my blog, and my lack of attention and dedication that I've given it lately. Laugh if you want, but I'm serious.

I worried about not being interesting anymore, about not being able to connect with all of the wonderful people I've met through here anymore due to my more demanding job. And it made me really sad.. I love posting here, and I love reading what everyone has to say on their own blogs. It's become a community that I look forward to being a part of pretty much every day, and it gets me down that I can no longer promise a daily post and that my mind is fried at the end of a long work day. Bums me out.

Well wouldn't you know, I came home from work on Tuesday and was trying to read a few blogs before heading back out for the afternoon. One of the three that I was able to read was Anni's over at Lincoln Park on a Lark.. and BAM. There was my picture and a simply beautiful shout out from her as a part of Secret's Mean Stinks campaign. Read her kind words here! It was seriously just the kind of pick-me-up that I needed, times ten. So thank you Anni!!

If you haven't heard about the Mean Stinks campaign.. it's very similar to Operation Beautiful (which I just adore(d), by the way).

Basically.. be nice. Share the love. Highlight someone who is amazing and wonderful and show them how awesome they are.

So I am doing just that today.. spreading the love to the very first person who came to mind: Amy at Life's Journey With A Smile.

Hope you don't mind that I borrowed this picture, friend!

This girl is simply amazing. She is strong in more ways than one, motivational, inspired, well-written, smart, funny, and my bloggy twin of course! I love reading what she has to write on daily basis.. and am always amazed how she never seems to run out of things to say! I'm always riveted and excited to read her posts, and seriously wish I could get to know her in person. Amy my love, words can't describe how fantastic you are!!

So there you have it. Being mean does stink.. but spreading the love? You can't say one bad word about that.

Isn't it so funny how things like that happen just when you need them? Glad I could help because I heart you, girl!

We do have to meet one day because I feel the EXACT same. Some people in the bloggy world I just feel like it might be awkward to meet, but I know we'd be insta-in-the-flesh friends!!

This seriously made my day thanks so much <3<3<3 and obviously I need that right now!!

i feel the same way, steph!! constantly reminding myself to be true to ME and stop worrying about the rest, while keeping things new and fresh can be slightly exhausting. so i tell myself i'll keep doing it until it's not a passion anymore.

LOVE THIS!!! What a great campaign!!!

And I've felt similar things before about my blog. The worst part? It's sometimes hard to express those feelings to those close to you in the "real world", because you're afraid they might not understand.

Anyways, don't you worry about your blog-- I love it!

I've been the worst blogger ever for the past few months. And I do feel bad because I love writing and I love everyone I've met through blogging. But you just gotta tell yourself that it's OK if you can't get a post up every day. Hell, I hardly get a post up every WEEK. You can't be too hard on yourself. You have like a million jobs, a fiance, 2 cats, and a wedding to plan, plus a LIFE. We're here for ya, girl, no matter how much you blog :)

Girl, blogging can be done with a crazy job! I have had some long hours, believe you me, and if you really want it to work out, it will and we will be here for you! What a great idea with the Mean Stinks campaign! I think it is so nice of you to give a shout out to Amy! She really is one of my favorite bloggers, too, and so genuine! I think one day we should all fly to some central place for a bloggy meetup!

I just found your blog and it seems fun so far! I have the same concerns with my own blog. Honestly if my husband and my mom didnt push me to write posts so much I probably wouldnt. Its hard to remember to document life sometimes when we are too busy living it! I loved your cherry blossom post though! And also thank you for commenting on my blog :-)

Love this anti-meal girl concept!

And Amy is awesome, so I love that you picked her, too!
