While I'll give almost any rom-com a chance (seriously.. it's shameful), I have a few staples. I tend to watch my favorites over and over again like they're actually Oscar winning movies. Feel free to judge.
...what?! 13 Going On 30 is totally underrated.
I'm seriously in love with this movie. I think part of it is that every little girl (ok, me) wishes they were older and pretty and successful, and doesn't want to go through all the crap it takes to get there. Plus, I wouldn't mind having Jennifer Garner's wardrobe in that movie. Or kissing Mark Ruffalo. Or being the editor of a big fashion magazine. I originally had a burned copy of this movie but watched it so much that it stopped working. So I finally sprung for the actual DVD. Big spendaaa.
Lately, I've also been obsessed with 27 Dresses and Bride Wars. I blame it on the upcoming nuptuals.
I used to hate Katherine Heigl (I think because she was a bitch on Roswell.. grudge much?), but this movie made me get over it. The lady is lovable. And you can't get better than Kate Hudson, who I fell in love with in Almost Famous. Or Anne Hathaway. In fact, The Devil Wears Prada almost made this here list because my girl Anne totally makes that movie. And Meryl Streep of course. But I'm in it for Anne.
Moving on. A staple that I firmly believe everyone should own and watch a bajillion times over is Love Actually.
Buy it, watch it, love it. I don't even think I would classify this as a chick flick, partially because I actually know a bunch of guys who really (honestly) enjoy this movie too. It makes you laugh, it makes you cry, it makes you feel for the characters. If you don't like this movie, I'm not sure we can be friends.
Well, maybe we can be. But you'd have to give it another chance. Deal?
That's about it for now. I have other silly movies that I just love, but these are by far the top. What are some terribly awesome chick flicks (or other genres) that you can't get enough of??

Ro-coms are my favs ...I don't care how girly that makes me. I'm always in the mood for them.
I love 27 Dresses LOVE LOVE LOVE. When I first saw the trailer I marked it on my calendar and it was a massive girls night.

I'm not sure if Knocked Up counts but it's my all-time favourite... I love pregnancy ro-coms.

Failure to Launch is one of my faves. Probably not really in this category, but 10 Things I Hate About You is another fave.
Love Actually is one of the BEST MOVIES EVARRRRRRR and is a Christmas time staple.
I'm a Rom Com fan because I don't like scary movies and that limits me, a ton. (Okay I'm actually a nerd and love bolly wood too - which is like a Rom com to me. AND there's dancing. Done.)
Love Actually. I can't even begin to explain my obsession. Have you ever watched it with commentary on? It's awesome. They're always pointing out "this is where the brits laughed but the american's didn't get it - for you all, this guy is famous over here, mkay?" - it made the movie a ton funnier!

All great choices. My top pick for Rom-Com is Sliding Doors. LOVE. More Love-Actually-ish British humor.
Love Actually is an awesome movie and I never get sick of Bride Wars.

LOVE "Love Actually." It's just such a perfect movie. I never saw "Bride Wars" (shame on me, I know) but I did love "13 Going On 30" and "27 Dresses." I'm not a big movie person, but I love a good rom-com. :) Does "The Devil Wears Prada" count? Kind of? Because that's my fave.
Ah! Great list. I'm not much of a fan of "Bride Wars" but I do certainly love 27 Dresses & Love Actually (great soundtrack)!
Some of my guilty pleasures are Blue Crush (I watched this so much in high school), One Fine Day (NYC-set movies are the best), and Waitress. The Notebook too... is one of my favs & I liked Dear John and can watch The Last Song over & over again because I love Miley. Yes, I just told you that! :)

I absolutely am IN LOVE with Love Actually. It's one of my favorite movies ever. My sister and I watch it over and over again, especially around Christmas time.
