Is that... lavender?!?!

Having worked in a coffee shop for about two years, I am well versed in the art of java. I still swear that I can make the most delicious, frothy foam to top your cappuccino, and mix your half-caf no foam extra whipped nonfat sugar free raspberry white chocolate mocha (still with me..?). The best part about working in this particular coffee shop was that I could make all of my own drinks, free of charge. The aforementioned mocha would probably go for what, 5 dollars-ish for a small? Here I could make all of the half vanilla, half spiced iced chai with soy and a shot of espresso that I wanted. Let's forget about the calorie counts involved for a minute, because I was getting free caffeine. The fact that I still sometimes went to Starbucks to get my iced coffee fix was pretty much a crime.. but I could never give up my *$ (Star*bucks$, get it?). But I digress.

As I walk from the Metro to work in the mornings, I pass a Caribou Coffee. I disliked this place for a long time, 1. because of the prices, and 2. I associated caribou's with Sarah Palin, and, well.. enough said (yes, I hold grudges). But then they started offering $2 hot tea lattes on Monday's, with fantastic flavors like Black Thai and Vanilla Rooibos. Delish! I stopped consuming said tasty treats when the promo disappeared, because really? I will not spend over $4 on hot tea. And then there came today.

I was walking past, looking at the yummy drinks on Caribou's signs, when I read the description of one.. "Iced Lavender White Chocolate Mocha". Excuse me, what?!?! I did a triple take and twirled right on back around to the entrance and ordered me one of those babies, with soy. I don't need to tell you how much it cost (over 5.. ouch), but the moment I saw lavender, I was hooked. Those who know me understand my obsession with the flower and scent, but in drink form? Sign me up!!!
So, I present to you...

Deliciousness!!

Would I buy it again? Probably not. For the most part I like my java simple.. black with a packet of Splenda. But I am always up for a new twist on coffee. Mmmm.
