The title forget-me-nots and city sidewalks came about when I was still living in Philadelphia - a city that took me four years to finally love and two minutes to miss. My life and love situation at the time of this blogs conception was such that I was relishing living in such a wonderful city with such fantastic people surrounding me. As with all things in life, that situation soon changed and I have had my fair share of ups and downs in the past four years (..eventually and currently UP!). Even though I now live in the suburbs of Washington DC, I still can't let go of those city sidewalks. And the forget-me-nots? They speak for themselves; I will never forget Philly or the feeling I had when walking from south Philly to center city on a warm, summer morning. Those are the times I will never forget.

Back to life, back to reality
I initially started this blog back in 2006, after the craze of LiveJournal had somewhat subsided. I decided that I needed a newer, separate, more "grown up" blog, and so forget-me-nots and city sidewalks was born (a spin off of a favorite lyric by Motion City Soundtrack). Well, I proceeded to update once maybe every six months due to an assortment of reasons. Looking back, I am sad that I wasn't able to keep up since I love to write, especially when it's something that I could look back on and remember the good times. My personal journal writing dipped off as well, except for the upset/angry/sad entries that I always managed to eke out. Not the best for a trip down memory lane! So this is my new attempt at starting over. To be honest, this is a bit selfish of me because part of the reason for this blog is so that I can apply to WeddingBee next year!
