I went many a year with my faux-Uggs (Fuggs?) from Payless. They did they job - kept my feet warm, made me sort of wannabe trendy in the girl world, provided me with incessant mocking from the guy world. Once the cold weather started to hit this year, however, I realized that my Fuggs were looking kind of.. well, fugly.
This picture doesn't really do them justice. They're all stained and old and gross, as boots will become after years of use.
So I told Scot that I wanted a pair of real Uggs for Christmas. To which he started laughing hysterically and saying I wouldn't be getting them from him. Duly noted. In an effort to defend my case, I told him how I wear my Fuggs all. the. time. in the winter (much to his chagrin) and that I've been saving up my precious pennies for a pair. He responded by acknowledging that they pricey and they "had to be something stupid expensive, like what, $50?".
Friends, I kid you not. He thought Uggs were $50. And that that is expensive for boots. When I told him my Fuggs were $40 and Uggs themselves are closer to $200 - oh geez. He wasn't a fan.
Too bad, I bought a pair. Black ones, precisely. And I loved them, for the whole month that I was able to wear them.
Don't be jealous of my trendiness.
Now you may be asking why I was only able to wear them for a month. And the answer, my dear friends, is because of that little beast in the picture above. Who likes to push open ajar doors. And steal shoes. And eat them.
Yep.
I called Scot in tears, and he was actually quite nice about it. Told me my birthday may come early this year (note: it's in July). While it's a nice thought, I'm back to a (new) stand-in pair of Fuggs.
A few more thoughts on life and the dog: she also chomped on my one pair of designer sunglasses that I finally got last year after years of lusting, as well. This is why I'm not allowed to have nice things.
In addition, she has definitely put the thought of us having kids much farther away than it was. Sad, but true.

Well, she's a name brand girl, I can tell you that! :(
Sorry she got your Uggs, I love mine and wear the heck out of those things.
Awwww so sad! That's awful. I have a pair of Uggs, but they're not the basic ones - they're the ones that look like a sweater and I wear them ALL THE TIME. I love 'em!
I think dogs must have expensive taste. One of my new pups managed to chew up the carpet in our spare room ($150), the mini-blinds in the spare room ($80 for curtains in place of mini-blinds), a dog crate that was supposed to contain her ($60), 2 pairs of shoes ($50 - good thing I only buy payless!), and several other small items. Wait until we have kids!
:( Big bummer.
Luckily, kids don't chew things, right? I mean, they poop but not on your shoes (hopefully.)
Ohhhh my lord. I would die. I have wanted uggs for YEARS.... but can't make the purchase. I couldn't imagine them being eaten like that. That's heartbreaking :(
My fuggs are from Walmart. Good times. I also have Joe brand Sorel's. I'm cool like that!
Oh man! Poor Uggs! I am glad that it's too hot here to wear those otherwise I would want a pair!!
Tebow ate my Sperry's Top Sliders once. I sobbed. Literally fell to the ground and sobbed. Such a sad moment - that was also the day that we got a crate.
I highhhhly recommend crating!
